What is a surrogate?

Becoming a surrogate is a life-changing decision that can bring many benefits to both you, the surrogate, and the intended parents. Surrogacy is a process where a woman carries and delivers a child for another couple or individual. Here are some of the BENEFITS of becoming a surrogate:

The opportunity to help others.

One of the most significant benefits of becoming a surrogate is the opportunity to help intended parents who cannot have children on their own. For many people, surrogacy is the only option to have a child, and being a surrogate can bring you immense joy and fulfillment knowing that you helped create a family.

Financial compensation

As a surrogate you are compensated for your time and effort during the surrogacy process. The financial compensation can vary depending on the surrogacy arrangement made, but it can be a significant source of income for you.

Emotional
Support

Our surrogacy agency provides our surrogates with emotional support throughout the surrogacy process. As one of our surrogates you will receive personalized attention and guidance to help you navigate the journey of surrogacy.

Sense of pride and accomplishment

Becoming a surrogate requires courage, selflessness, and a commitment to helping others. You can take pride in your decision to become a surrogate and the positive impact it will have on the intended parents' lives.

In conclusion, becoming a surrogate can bring many benefits, including the opportunity to help others, financial compensation, improved physical health, emotional support, and a sense of pride and accomplishment. If you choose to become a surrogate, you will make a significant difference in the lives of intended parents while also experiencing personal fulfillment and growth.

“I definitely recommend Giving Hope.”

“Every person at Giving Hope was amazing!”

As a surrogate you’re the hero who makes having a family possible for someone else.

“Giving Hope is amazing. They are prompt with everything and always available to answer questions. Love all the wonderful ladies who make up Giving Hope.”

What is the process to become a surrogate ?

If you qualify to be a surrogate, then one of our surrogate care members will set up a convenient time with you to explain the surrogacy process in detail. We love to talk about surrogacy! We know you have a lot of questions; we are here to give you the comfort and reassurance to move to your next step.

We are always available to jump on a call with you to answer your questions and go over the process.

Yes I want to Chat!

You will complete your online surrogate profile. This is where you give information and photos about you, your family, your interests, and your goals. Your surrogate profile will be shared with our intended parents to match you with a couple with shared interests.

Once you are accepted into our awesome surrogacy program then we want to help you get matched and reach your goal of being a surrogate!

Medical Records & Background Check

Our fertility physicians will require a copy of your OB/GYN records of your most recent pregnancy. These records will make sure that you qualify to medically be able to be a surrogate and carry a child.
We will run a criminal background check to make sure there are no felonies or criminal charges on your record.

Once we have your medical records and background check then we are ready for an exciting milestone in your journey. MATCHING YOU with a couple!

Matching. This could happen quickly to a couple of months.

We love this part! At this point in your journey you have been cleared to become a surrogate mother. Now we will do our best to get you matched quickly, we know both you and the intended parents are excited to start this journey together. We will work with you and intended parents to match you both together where you both share the same goals, values and preferences. We match our surrogates with intended parents who have a connection with each other. You will have a video call with the intended parents to see if you are a good match for each other. You could get matched quickly!

Once you and the couple agree upon being a match for each other then we move onto the next steps, psychological screening, legal contracts, medical screening, and embryo transfer.

You will speak with a licensed therapist who specializes in surrogacy. They will ensure that you are mentally fit to become a surrogate as well as you are able to fulfil your obligations as a surrogate mother.

Then you will enter a legal contract with the intended parents. You and your intended parents will be represented by your own attorney. Your attorney will review with you the legal rights, your compensation, and protocols that you and the intended parents agree upon together. Your attorney that is provided for you specialized in fertility law.

You will complete your medical screening at the fertility clinic of the intended parent(s). You will have a physical exam and ultrasound on your uterus and ovaries and blood work. If you have a partner, they will be required to undergo infectious disease screening and drug testing (costs are covered).

As a surrogate, you did NOT use your own eggs.

In the days prior to the embryo transfer you will begin medication to help prepare your uterus for the embryo transfer. You will continue until 12 weeks of pregnancy to help maintain pregnancy. You will be guided how to take your medication and when by the physician.
Once your uterine lining is sufficient, the intended parent(s) fertility doctor will transfer an embryo into your uterus. This process is quick and painless.

Then the much-anticipated moment of your journey is the pregnancy test.

Between 12-14 days after your embryo transfer you will have a blood pregnancy test at the fertility clinic to determine if you are pregnant. This is a BIG day for you, your intended parents and your Giving Hope family. If you are pregnant, congratulations you are officially a surrogate mother! At around 8-10 weeks of pregnancy, you will start weaning off your fertility medication. Then we will move your care from the fertility physician to a local OB/GYN of your choice. You will become the patient of your chosen doctor and will have the same experience as you did with your own children. You will have an ultrasound in around 8 weeks. You will have love, support and encouragement from our giving hope surrogate care team and the intended parents. You are part of our giving hope family!

The day as come, and you will be surrounded with so much love and support. You’re a true hero and we will all be celebrating YOU!
You will go to your hospital to deliver the baby. Then the baby will go to his/her parents while you rest up and recover. There will be A LOT of happy tears on this special day!

If you and the intended parents choose, you and the family can have a relationship as the child grows up. YOU JUST MADE PARENTHOOD possible for someone who couldn’t have their child without a surrogate.

Our surrogate care team will walk you through every step throughout the entire journey and after delivery, you are part of our Giving Hope family. This is a beautiful journey to be on and you will always have us educating you and supporting you. We are on your team!

Are you ready to join our Giving Hope family and start this exciting and fulfilling journey and be matched with a loving couple?

Who needs a surrogate?

Intended parents who need a surrogate can come from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances. Some common reasons that intended parents may choose surrogacy include:

Infertility. Intended parents who are unable to conceive or carry pregnancy to term may choose surrogacy as a way to have a biological child.

Medical Conditions. Intended parents who have medical conditions that make pregnancy dangerous or impossible may choose surrogacy as an alternative to traditional pregnancy.

Same-Sex Couples. Same-sex male couples or single men who want to have biological children may choose surrogacy as a way to have a child.

Recurrent miscarriages. Intended parents who have experienced multiple miscarriages may choose surrogacy as a way to have a successful pregnancy and child.

Genetic Concerns. Intended parents who have genetic concerns, or a history of genetic disorders may choose surrogacy as a way to have a child without passing on those genetic disorders.

In all cases, intended parents who choose surrogacy do so with the goal of having a child and building their family. As a surrogate you can provide a viable option for those who may not be able carry a child to term on their own.

Becoming a surrogate is one of the most selfless decisions you can make. We have so much respect for you and can’t wait to help match you with one of our intended parents.

As a surrogate you’re making the impossible POSSIBLE!

“Thank you SO much for your help you have truly made this process go by flawlessly.”

We’ll be in touch quickly. We are anxiously waiting to educate you on the process and care for you in your surrogacy journey.
